Awamaki ‘20 Collection
After assisting with development of the Awamaki ‘19 collection during the summer of 2018, I was asked to return to Ollantaytambo, Peru in August of 2019 to lead on-site design and production. During this time, I refined and extended past bestsellers and developed new product offerings. I collaborated with local female artisan weavers to develop textiles for the collection and worked with Awamaki’s in-house seamster to develop silhouettes. I was responsible for approving locally-sourced yarns and for sourcing new hardware for the collection.
While in Peru, I also developed a series of workshops to promote artisan confidence and entrepreneurship.
